Zhao Xiaosheng’s "Fishing Songs" is one of many adaptations he composed in his early days. The composition integrates a large number of adaptation methods for traditional instrumental works. At the same time, the structure of the composition also shows the unique structural characteristics of Chinese traditional music. In addition, the harmonies and melody of the composition are both featured with very ethnic ingredients.Because the researches on Zhao Xiaosheng and his works at home and abroad focus more on his large works and composition approaches,so the analysis of the piano works he creates is relatively rare. Therefore, this paper chooses Zhao Xiaosheng’s early work "Fishing Songs" and analyzes it respectively from the aspects of the musical form and playing techniques of the work.Among them, the former mainly focuses on the exploration of the musical structure and music analysis. As the focus of this paper, the playing techniques are put forward to analyze and explore the performance of many difficult aspects, such as fast arpeggio, compound counterpoint, ensemble, etc.,as well as the speed control, pedal application, and how to touch the keys.Besides,it also innovatively makes an attempt to explore the performance of the work from the "spirit consonance".This paper is intended to analyze and explore the music form and playing techniques of Zhao Xiaosheng’s "Fishing Songs",aiming to provide certain theoretical support for the players’ second creation,so that they can better grasp the structural and musical characteristics of the works when playing, and apply the corresponding playing techniques more flexibly.
