| The material for this simulated simultaneous interpreting practice report is a technological lecture named “Energy Consumption of Modern Technology”.It focuses on the definition, working principles, energy consumption and future directions of modern technologies, aiming to help people understand the energy problems caused by the development of modern technology and to indicate the way forward. This practice report summarizes simultaneous interpreting tactics for semantic noises in this technological lecture by means of case study. The semantic noises are mainly caused by specific vocabulary, visualized information and unclear expressions. The semantic noise caused by specific vocabulary mainly involves numerical information and proper nouns, and the interpreter adopts tactics such as blurring, source language with explanation and addition;the semantic noise caused by visualized information is due to blurred images or inconsistent sound and picture, and addition, blurring and paraphrase are adopted;the semantic noise caused by unclear expressions is reflected in two aspects, namely inaccurate pronunciation and redundancy, and the interpreter mainly adopts interpreting tactics such as blurring and omission.By analyzing the semantic noises and the coping tactics in this simulated simultaneous interpreting, the interpreter hopes to provide reference for dealing with other similar problems in the future in order to improve the quality of interpretation. |
