| Ways of coping can be simply understood as the ways or strategies people adopt to cope with the stress situations caused by the changes of internal and external environment.As the mediating mechanism of stress and physical and mental health,Ways of coping have a protective effect on physical and mental health.In today’s society,everyone is faced with various sources of pressure such as family,study,work and interpersonal relationship.Positive coping style can help individuals relieve their own pressure level and achieve adaptive development in stress and stressful events.On the contrary,negative coping style is not conducive to problem solving and physical and mental health.Adult coping styles are developed from childhood.It is of great significance to study what factors of childhood living environment affect adult coping styles.This will help child protection agencies and education departments to formulate corresponding educational countermeasures and intervention measures.This study will examine the effects of childhood emotion neglect(EN)on coping styles and mindfulness in adulthood,and develop intervention programs incorporating mindfulness to improve coping styles in individuals who experience emotional neglect in childhood.The methods used in this study include questionnaire survey,case study and interview.691 residents over 18 years old in a community were selected as subjects to test the Chinese version of the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire(CTQ-SF)-Affective Neglect Subscale,Mindful Attention Awareness Scale(MASS)and Simple Coping Style Questionnaire(SCSQ).SPSS25.0 and AMOS24.0 were used for correlation analysis and model test to investigate the correlation between emotional neglect in childhood and the level of mindfulness and coping style.In addition,according to the conclusions of study 1 and Study 2,a case intervention program was developed for mindfulness-based acceptance commitment therapy(ACT)to intervene the level of independent variable childhood affective neglect and mediating variable mindfulness,so as to provide reference and suggestions for the intervention of individual coping styles of childhood affective neglect experience.Research results:(1)The current situation of coping styles of adults: From the perspective of gender variables,there was a significant difference in the negative coping styles of adults(t=-2.68,p=0.008).The average score of negative coping styles of females was significantly higher than that of males,but there was no significant difference in the positive coping styles of males and females.In terms of marital status,there is no significant difference in positive coping style,but significant difference in negative coping style(t=-2.13,p=0.033).Unmarried people are significantly higher than married people.From the perspective of family type of origin,there was no significant difference in positive coping styles,but significant difference in negative coping styles(F=3.40,p=0.018).From the perspective of family ranking,there were significant differences in positive coping styles(F=4.27,p=0.005).The scores of the oldest positive coping styles were significantly higher than those of the middle and youngest subjects,but there was no significant difference in negative coping styles.From the perspective of educational experience,there was a significant difference in positive coping style(F=8.62,p<0.001),but no significant difference in negative coping style.The higher the educational experience,the higher the score of positive coping style;From the perspective of age group,there were significant differences in positive coping styles(F=3.49,p=0.004),but no differences in negative coping styles.The positive coping styles increased from 18-25 years old to 31-35 years old,and gradually decreased after 31-35 years old.In terms of living style,there was a significant difference in positive coping style(F=4.22,p=0.015).The positive coping style score of group dormitory or shared room was significantly lower than that of living alone,with family members or lovers.In terms of the father’s education level,there was a significant difference in the positive coping style(F=3.61,p=0.013).The higher the father’s education level,the more positive coping style;There is no significant difference between positive coping style and negative coping style in the mother’s education level.(2)Emotional neglect in childhood was negatively correlated with mindfulness(r=-0.30,p<0.001),positively correlated with positive coping styles(r=-0.23,p<0.001),and positively correlated with negative coping styles(r=0.10,p<0.001).There was a significant positive correlation between mindfulness and positive coping styles(r=0.23,p<0.001),and a significant negative correlation between mindfulness and negative coping styles(r=-0.34,p<0.001).emotional neglect in childhood,mindfulness and coping styles in adulthood are pairwise correlation.(3)The mediating model of mindfulness between emotional neglect in childhood and coping styles in adulthood was constructed by AMOS24.0.The results showed that mindfulness played a complete mediating role between emotional neglect in childhood and negative coping styles.Mindfulness partially mediates the relationship between emotional neglect in childhood and positive coping styles in adulthood.(4)A case study of an individual with emotional neglect experience in childhood was conducted through a case intervention program based on mindfulness acceptance commitment therapy.The results showed that the coping style of the subject was significantly improved.Based on the investigation of coping styles of adults,by studying the relationship between emotional neglect in childhood,mindfulness and coping styles in adulthood,and developed individual intervention programs based on acceptance commitment therapy.The results showed that acceptance commitment therapy was effective in improving the coping styles of individuals with emotional neglect experiences in childhood,and provided reference for future intervention of coping styles of individuals with emotional neglect experiences in childhood. |
