With the deepening of economic globalization,cultural and creative industries with knowledge and creativity as the core competitiveness have become an emerging driving power for economic growth and urban development in the 21 st century.The development of cultural and creative industries will not only promote development,but also satisfy people’s growing demand for spiritual life.With the deepening implementation of national development strategies such as "cultural power" and "innovation driven mode",cultural and creative industry has gradually become an important engine to promote China’s economic growth and the transformation of developmental mode.The Yangtze River Delta is one of the most advanced economically developed regions in China and has the most stable basis for the development of cultural and creative industries in this region,and correspondingly its development level of cultural and creative industries ranks first across the China.Cultural and creative industry is an emerging industry with rich economic potential.Therefore,the robust development of cultural and creative industry can promote the sustainable development of the Yangtze River Delta region,optimizing and enhancing of industrial structure as well as improving the level of innovation level in this region.From the perspective of regional collaborative innovation,this paper analyzes the impact of the development of cultural and creative industries on the economic growth of the Yangtze River Delta by using the theoretical mode of regional economic development,which follows the outline of "current situation description-theoretical mechanism analysis – empirical test ",combining with a variety of quantitative research methods.Firstly,this paper systematically reviews the existing literature on cultural and creative industries,and points out the shortcomings of the existing research.Then it demonstrates the main theory of this article and reveals the theoretical mechanism between cultural and creative industry and regional development with the perspective of economics.Then,Combining a detailed descriptive analysis of data and the a thorough study of current government policies,this paper deeply analyzes the overall operation of the cultural and creative industry in the Yangtze River Delta,and studies the developmental status and trend of its cultural and creative industry.Based on the rigorious panel data analysis,the paper conducts an empirical study on the impact of cultural and creative industry on the regional economic development of Yangtze Delta region.The paper also gives several policy recommendations based on the empirical result.This paper finds that the Yangtze River Delta has inherent advantages for the development of cultural and creative industries.With the three mechanisms of consumption,innovation and urbanization,the cultural and creative industry has profoundly contributed to the optimization of industry structure and regional economic development.As the most economically developed region in China,the Yangtze River Delta has the suitable conditions and comparative advantages for the development of cultural and creative industries,which will help the region achieve the economic transformation and industrial structure upgrading.Therefore,the research on the cultural and creative industries in the Yangtze River Delta will help to improve the development level of cultural and creative industries in the region,promote the high-quality regional economic development,and provide a useful reference for the development of cultural and creative industries in other regions of China.
