Challenges And Solving Strategies In The Chinese-English Translation Of Deloitte Investment Environment Reports

In the past two years,though the global economy has been affected a lot by the coronavirus pandemic,foreign investments into China have accelerated.In order to help foreign investors quickly and accurately understand investment information,there is a growing need for highquality translation of investment environment reports.This thesis primarily deals with the difficulties that translators have in translating Deloitte investment environment reports and proposes corresponding strategies.Specifically,the difficulties can be divided into three categories: ambiguous expressions in the original text;the logic of some sentences is not clear;and many abbreviations,which contain a wealth of information.After drawing on reference documents and conducting the case study analysis,the author proposes three targeted strategies.The first is to do research to avoid misunderstanding,and then add appropriate information to improve the readability of the report.The second is to adjust the sentence structure and highlight the logic by emphasizing key information and splitting long sentences.The third is to make specific analysis based on specific context.The author hopes that this thesis could provide more examples for the translation research in investment environment reports and serve as a reference for other translators.
