Analysis Of The Improper Logic In Chinese-french Consecutive Interpretation And Its Improvement Strategies

In consecutive interpretation,logic runs through the whole process,no matter the source language,the translated language,or the transformation process between the two languages.However,since Chinese and French belong to two different language systems,there are naturally differences in their logical expression habits,and the difficulties in logical reconstruction in language conversion may easily lead to problems of improper logic in the translation.In this paper,we discuss the causes and improvement strategies of inappropriate logic in Chinese-French consecutive interpretation,taking the mock conference of the 4th Annual Sino-French Forum on Cooperation and Exchange in Artificial Intelligence in 2022 as an example.On the basis of searching relevant theoretical researches,reviewing previous literature written by scholars and combining with own interpretation practice experience,the author firstly defines the inappropriate translation logic in Chinese-French consecutive interpretation,and classifies the inappropriate translation logic into three categories:logical confusion,logical deficiency and logical error,which correspond to the three stages of listening,note-taking and output respectively.Secondly,combining with the case of this mock conference,the author analyzes in more detail the illogicality of translation caused by ignoring the implicit logic between source sentences and the inappropriate allocation of energy in the process of listening and discernment;the lack of logical symbols and the inappropriate recording of primary and secondary information in the process of note-taking;and the inappropriate addition and wrong use of logical connectives and the wrong use of tense and tense in the process of output.Finally,the paper proposes practical strategies for improvement from two perspectives : on-the-spot response and daily training.In terms of coping with the situation,we should pay attention to the reasonable allocation of energy when listening and discriminating;when taking notes,we should use two methods to strengthen the logic of notes: logical marking and highlighting the logical hierarchy of information;and when producing translations,we should use logical connectives carefully.In terms of daily training,you should strengthen your self-monitoring ability in your daily practice;strengthen your French input through multiple channels,create thematic contexts to correctly output accumulated expressions,and improve your French expression ability.
