The thesis of a master’s degree in Chinese international education is an important part of the talent training process and an essential basis for measuring students’ professional ability and research level.2013-2022,the number of master’s degree theses in Chinese international education in Beijing,Tianjin and Hebei universities is considerable and research-oriented.In this paper,we explore the characteristics and development trend of the thesis selection,discover the problems of the thesis selection and put forward relevant suggestions to optimize the thesis selection for a master’s degree in Chinese international education.The survey object is the selection of master’s degree theses in Chinese international education in Beijing,Tianjin and Hebei universities in the past ten years,the survey tool mainly uses relevant data analysis software,and the survey process specifically includes text collection,text collation and text analysis.In order to uncover the problems in the selection of master’s theses in Chinese international education in Beijing,Tianjin and Hebei universities,this study analyzes in detail three aspects: the form of the thesis selection,the content of the thesis selection and the research area.The study found that the selected topics for master’s degree theses in Chinese international education in Beijing,Tianjin and Hebei universities are more focused on thematic research,and the number of application-oriented topics such as case studies,teaching experiment reports and teaching designs is relatively small.The number of papers on South America and Oceania is relatively small.The author proposes targeted and operable countermeasures from three aspects: the training units should enrich the curriculum and provide practical positions;thesis supervisors should improve their own quality and attach importance to thesis guidance;and thesis writers should expand the scope of the thesis.Dissertation supervisors should improve their own quality and attach importance to dissertation guidance;dissertation writers should broaden their research horizons,improve their research abilities and cultivate cultural interests.This study is conducive to enriching the research results on the selection of topics for master’s degree theses in Chinese international education;at the same time,it can also provide reference references for master’s degree students in Chinese international education in selecting topics for their dissertations,and improve the quality of master’s degree theses in Chinese international education in Beijing,Tianjin and Hebei universities.
