Crucial native language transfer is a significant factor influencing the acquisition of Chinese language, and it remains a permanent in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language research area. This thesis focuses on native English speakers and employs bias analysis and comparative analysis to investigate impact the influence and underlying for native language transfer in the acquisition of causal conjunctions in Chinese. The study also explores teaching strategies to address native language transfer, coming to provide valuable reference for effective teaching practices.First of all, this thesis examines the usage and bias of Chinese causal conjunctions among native English speakers in the HSK corpus, exploring the impact of native language transfer. The specific performances are: native English speakers tend to overuse the words that align with their native language expressions, resulting in higher accuracy, while displaying a tendency to avoid using words that different from their native language, leading to low accuracy. As for biases, native English speakers tend to omit words in the combined form;apply English sentence patterns to Chinese;face difficulty in distinguishing words with intersecting meanings between Chinese and English;and experience challenges with the word order in sentences.Subsequently, this thesis delves into the causes of native language transfer through the research and comparison of common causal conjunctions in Chinese and English. It reveals that sameness between languages result in positive transfer and facilitate acquisition of related words.Similarities between languages may lead to produce negative transfer, applying English semantics and fixed sentence patterns are applied to Chinese;differences between languages can contribute to negative transfer, such as the variations in collocation of causal conjunctions between Chinese and English, leading English native speakers miss words in the combined form, and resulting in omissions;divergent distinct word order cause confusion among native English speakers, conventions leading on disorderly biases;when acquiring unique causal conjunctions in Chinese, leaners are prone to hinder interference and avoidance of their usage. Finally, this study provides teaching suggestions encompassing principles and methods.Regarding teaching principles, teachers are advised to enhance language comparison and consider the transfer principles while fastening learners Chinese, thinking patterns and reducing reliance on the native language.Besides, the use of translation, comparison, practice and thematic methods in teaching can help students in mastering causal conjunctions in Chinese. The research aims to expand the specialized research on causal conjunctions from the perspective of native language transfer offering new insights for research and providing supplementary explanation for the teaching research of Chinese causal conjunctions to native English speakers.
