According to the 14 th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Tourism in Zhejiang,Zhejiang’s tourism industry will develop at a high level in the future and enter a new stage of mass tourism. Therefore,it is extremely important to translate tourism texts well. The translation material of this practice report was selected from Beautiful Zhejiang,a book about geography and tourism in a popular and beautiful language. The book was written fluently and exquisitely, showing readers the famous mountains and rivers of the province as well as the great culture created by the people of Zhejiang. This report consists of five parts: Introduction,Process of Translation,Translation Theory,Case Analysis, and Conclusion. The first part introduces the source text, the significance and purpose of translation, and the layout of the report; The second part describes the whole translation process, which is divided into the pre-translation phase, the while-translation phase, and the post-translation phase; The third part is an introduction to Functional Equivalence Theory and its application in tourist texts; The fourth part is case analysis, which specifically analyzes the difficulties in the whole process and sets out how the theory can be used to solve the problems. The fifth part is the conclusion, which summarizes the translator’s conclusions and limitations in the translation process and provides some directions for translation research of such texts. In this report, the translator tries to analyze the tourism text based on Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory. The main conclusions reached by the translator are as follows: 1)At the lexical level, one should accurately grasp the original and connotative meanings of culture-loaded words and titles, and pay attention to the target readers’ feelings;2)At the syntactic level, one should use sentence division and reconstruction under the guidance of Functional Equivalence Theory, and adapt the translation to the target readers’ reading habits;3)At the stylistic level, one should pay attention to the translation of poems and couplets. After fully understanding their basic meaning, the translator should accurately grasp their implicit meaning in context. Not only the content but also the form and rhythm aesthetics of poems and couplets should be considered in the translation.
