| This paper presents a research on the causes of the popularity of the ’Morandi Tone’ from the perspective of colour design,demystifying the causes of the phenomenon of the ’Morandi Tone’ in China and criticising its symbolic misuse out of the original colour context,whose colour connotation and aesthetic values have not been fully interpreted and translated.This paper extends the meaning of the ’Morandi Tone’ to three levels: firstly,a colour style based on the Morandi’s paintings;secondly,a popular colour phenomenon and a symbolisation of consumerism;and thirdly,the resource of colour design.The study of "Morandi Tone" has been carried out from "knowing what it is" to "knowing why it is",from "invisible" to "visible",from "limited" to "infinite".In the first chapter,a comprehensive and systematic analysis of the prototypes of the painter’s paintings is carried out from the level of colour theory,exploring the historical background,chromatic characteristics,colour perception,colour harmony and colour composition of the "Morandi Tone",also explores the structure of the "Morandi Tone" colour system.In the second chapter,the visual culture and causes of the "Morandi Tone" are traced,critiqued and reflected on from the level of the colour phenomenon,combined with market cases.The third chapter,at the level of colour design,analyses its aesthetic elements,variation possibilities and translation methods as a colour design resource,and presents them through practice. |
