| The“Bian Lan Bu Yi” is a bilingual dictionary of Manchu,Han,and Mongolian languages,and is the second half of Volume four of the “Meng Wen Xi Yi”(also known as “Meng Wen Zhi Yao”).It is also known as the“Bian Lan Yi Zi” and was compiled by the Qing dynasty scholar Sai Shang’a.The dictionary follows the format of the “San He Bian Lan”,with each page containing eight lines of half-page entries in Manchu,Han,and Mongolian languages.The Manchu word is listed at the top,followed by its Han and Mongolian translations.The dictionary contains a total of 824 entries.This article conducted a statistical and inductive study on the entries of“Bian Lan Bu Yi” and compared it with “San He Bian Lan” and “Yu Zhi Wu Ti Qing Wen Jian”.It clarified the characteristics of the entries supplemented by “Bian Lan Bu Yi” and the methods of adding entries.The article consists of six parts: introduction,chapter one,chapter two,chapter three,conclusion,and appendix.The introduction mainly explains the basis and significance of the topic selection,the original materials used in this article,the author,the research status,the research content,and the research methods.Chapter one mainly conducted a detailed study on the relationship between “San He Bian Lan” and “Bian Lan Bu Yi” at the entry level.Firstly,all entries of “Bian Lan Bu Yi” were counted and organized by computer.There are a total of 824 entries in “Bian Lan Bu Yi”,all of which are arranged in the order of Manchu twelve-character headings,and 248 entries have corresponding entries in “San He Bian Lan”.Secondly,the same entries in “San He Bian Lan” and “Bian Lan Bu Yi” were compared,and then compared with corresponding entries in “Yu Zhi Wu Ti Qing Wen Jian”.The study was conducted from three aspects: Manchu supplement,Chinese supplement,and Mongolian supplement.In chapter two,the 576 new entries in “Bian Lan Bu Yi”were compared with corresponding entries in “Yu Zhi Wu Ti Qing Wen Jian”.According to the data statistics of the entries in the two documents,the 576 entries can be divided into the following three categories:(1)Manchu entries that are the same in “Yu Zhi Wu Ti Qing Wen Jian” and “Bian Lan Bu Yi”;(2)new entries in “Bian Lan Bu Yi” that are not included in “Yu Zhi Wu Ti Qing Wen Jian”;(3)entries that appear in the form of phrases in “Bian Lan Bu Yi”,but appear in the form of single words in “Yu Zhi Wu Ti Qing Wen Jian”.Chapter three mainly studied the new Mongolian entries in “Bian Lan Bu Yi”,which were classified into nouns,adjectives,pronouns,numerals,verbs,and adverbs according to their parts of speech.In addition,the characteristics of the new entries in “Bian Lan Bu Yi” were summarized from the aspects of their parts of speech and grammatical features.The conclusion section summarizes the entire article and explains the innovation and future prospects of this paper. |
