| Charles Ives is the 20 th century American transcendentalist musician,the representative figure of American folk music,known as the "father of American music".Various techniques of quotation appear in many of Ives’ music works.Art song is an important part of Ives’ music creation.This thesis takes Ives’ art songs as the research object,explores various forms of citation techniques,further discusses how this technique reflects the style and connotation of Ives’ art songs,and studies the inspiration and significance of his citation techniques for American music in the 20 th century.The full text consists of the introduction and four chapters.The introduction part lists the literature on Ives studied by many domestic and foreign researchers,and according to the needs of this subject,it can be roughly divided into four categories:the research on Ives’ citation techniques,the research on Ives’ art songs,the overall research on Ives’ music and the research on Ives’ instrumental works.The first chapter gives a conceptual definition of this idiom,and discusses the definition,origin and relevant examples of this technique in domestic and foreign research fields.The second chapter,starting from the cultural background of Ives’ creation,discusses the basic concept of Ives’ creation of music works in the background of his time,as well as Ives’ own attitude and concept towards citation techniques.The third chapter is the analysis of specific music works,enumerates a number of representative art songs,from the point of reference to deconstruct their melody,harmony,structure and other creative processes and forms.The fourth chapter,on the basis of the first three chapters,makes a partial summary of Ives’ music creation,and puts forward some inspirations about the quoting techniques. |
