In recent years,the educational circle has been trying to integrate information technology and education.As a teaching mode relying on information technology and giving full play to the advantages of online teaching and traditional classroom,blended teaching has been widely recognized by the educational circles.Especially in the post epidemic era,teaching methods are undergoing profound changes,and blended teaching will become a new paradigm of teaching in the future.Therefore,from the perspective of Connectivism,the author tries to establish a blended teaching mode suitable for junior middle school English by linking different learning resource nodes.The main questions are as follows:(1)What is the current situation of the blended English teaching mode in junior middle school?(2)How does the blended teaching mode influence junior middle school students’ English reading?(3)Does the junior middle school students’ interest in English reading improve under the blended teaching mode?In order to answer the above questions,the author takes S Middle School in Guangzhou as the experimental subject by means of tests,a questionnaire and an interview to carry out the practice of teaching mode and verify the effectiveness of teaching mode.The author first conducted a questionnaire survey on 230 students in Grade 7 to Grade 9 of S Middle School,and then analyzed the interview results.After understanding the current situation of blended English teaching mode for junior middle school students,based on Connectivism,the author conducts an empirical study on two classes of Grade 7 of S Middle School(Class 3 of Grade 7 was the experimental class and Class 4 of Grade 7 was the control class).After one semester of the blended teaching mode in the experimental class,the author uses Spss19.0software to conduct an independent sample T-test on the pre-test and post test scores of the experimental class,and analyzes the effect of the blended teaching mode of English reading in junior middle school based on the perspective of Connectivism.Finally,this thesis puts forward the application strategies of junior middle school English reading blended teaching mode from the perspective of Connectivism theory from the teacher level and student level.The study found the following problems with the blended teaching model in the middle school English teaching stage:(1)The relevance of students’ English learning ability is not enough.(2)The blended teaching mode is not fully used.(3)The creation of blended learning environment is insufficient.Blended teaching mode can enhance students’ reading interest by incorporating engaging multimedia resources,offering personalized learning experiences,facilitating collaborative activities,and establishing real-world connections.It can effectively enhance students’ reading skills by expanding their reading horizons,improving breadth and depth,nurturing self-directed learning abilities,critical thinking,and fostering a collaborative spirit.Based on the above research conclusions,the specific strategies listed in this study include: teachers need to develop excellent teaching resources,improve teachers’ and students’ information literacy,and effectively carry out layered teaching.
