A Study On The Language Style Of Xiaohong’s Novels

This article takes all of Xiao Hong’s published novels as the object of study.By carefully reading her works and related literature,collecting and classifying the corpus,and analyzing specific linguistic examples of the novels based on the theories of Chinese stylistics and rhetoric,using a combination of description and interpretation,qualitative and quantitative,and inductive methods,the article comprehensively explores the linguistic style characteristics of Xiao Hong’s novels.The article is divided into six main parts.The first part is the introduction,which introduces the origin of the topic,the content and significance of the study,the current status of the study,the research method and the sources of the corpus.The second part is the description and analysis of the vulgar and simple language style of Xiao Hong’s novels.The main analysis of the vulgar and simple language style is based on the vocabulary,syntax and rhetoric,and the description and explanation of the dialectal colloquialisms,short sentences and children’s sentences,and metaphorical rhetoric used in the novel,as well as the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the metaphorical rhetoric.Xiao Hong’s choice of metaphors is found to be very close to life,highlighting the commonplace simplicity even more.The third part is the description and analysis of the fresh and lucid language style of Xiao Hong’s novel.The novelistic use of words and the personalized choice of sentences form a fresh language;the use of color words and words indicating light,shadow and lines add to the brightness of the language;the poetic sentence style best reflects the talent of Xiao Hong’s poems.The fourth part is a description and analysis of the subtle and ironic language style of Xiao Hong’s novels.The rhetoric and chapter are explored,and the use of contrast and symbolic rhetoric makes the language indirect and subtle,with endless meaning.The open ending leaves infinite space for the reader’s imagination.The fifth part is an analysis of the causes of Xiao Hong’s linguistic style.The writer’s linguistic style is the result of a variety of factors,and this paper argues from two aspects: subjective and objective factors.Life experience,personality,artistic talent and pursuit are the subjective factors that influence Xiao Hong’s language style,while the object of expression and social environment are the objective factors.The sixth part is the conclusion,which summarizes the whole text.It points out the innovation and deficiency of this paper,and provides some references for further study of Xiao Hong’s novel language style.
