Research On The Emotional Construction Of Public Welfare Documentary

Public welfare documentaries,which record real people and events in public welfare activities,reflect the social reality by recording the living conditions of the protagonists and arouse the public’s attention to public welfare undertakings,are of high creation and research value in the new era.Combined with the creative practice of the graduation work The Screw that Never Rusts,this paper uses the theories of emotional cognition to discuss how such documentaries can construct characters’ emotions,trigger audience empathy,and better convey public welfare concepts to the audience.This paper mainly studies how to establish a good emotional connection among the creator,the protagonist and the audience,and defines and classifies the concept and basic characteristics of public-interest character documentaries.First of all,in the process of documentary shooting,the creator can adopt the "friendship-style creation" method to establish the emotional connection between the creator and the protagonist,so as to narrow the relationship between the subject and the object,record the real life to the greatest extent,and realize the emotional interaction with the protagonist.Secondly,the image of the hero can be constructed from the aspects of the hero’s public welfare image and life image,feelings of home and country and individual destiny,self-identification and external evaluation,so as to stimulate the emotional outpouring of the hero.Finally,at the audio-visual level,artistic expression means such as long shot,simultaneous sound and montage can be used to arouse the audience’s emotional resonance and realize empathy.This paper takes public-interest documentaries as the research object and discusses the content and value of emotional construction.It hopes that the audience can feel the exquisite emotions conveyed by the works,but also be touched by the public welfare concept conveyed by the documentaries,and pay more attention to public welfare undertakings in life and put them into action.
