Design Of Activities Themed On Confucian "Benevolence" Culture For Overseas High School Students With Chinese Ancestry

Inheriting Chinese culture is an important goal of International Chinese education,and thematic teaching method has been proved by predecessors’ research and practice to significantly improve the cultural teaching effect.Moreover,the Confucian "benevolence" culture occupies a core position in the traditional Chinese culture,among which the positive thoughts of filial piety,brotherliness,kindness,righteousness,faith,protecting nature and "repay evil with kindness and good with kindness" are still bursting with great energy today,affecting the way Chinese people behave.Themed activities centering on "benevolence" culture can help overseas Chinese and Chinese overseas students better understand "benevolence" culture,practice benevolence,enhance the sense of identity and pride of Chinese culture,and facilitate the inheritance of Chinese culture overseas.Therefore,on the basis of Confucian "benevolence" culture,this paper carried out three theme activities for overseas Chinese and Chinese overseas students in senior one of the Chinese School of Florence,Italy: "Benevolence loves" story meeting,"The Beauty of Benevolence" works promotion meeting and "Love loves goods" speech contest.Through classroom observation,communication and interview,the teacher found that students’ participation in the themed activity was significantly higher than that in the regular class,and the themed activity deepened students’ understanding of "benevolence" culture.I have helped students accumulate rich writing materials and achieved good results in the World Overseas Chinese and Chinese Overseas Students Composition Contest.Enhance the students’ language expression ability and teamwork ability.
