| The posthumanist theory takes "non-human-centrism" as its core, and criticizes and transcends the anthropocentric view of the traditional humanistic perspective.Posthumanist theory believes that with the high integration of technology into human life, human dependence on technology has increased, resulting in the decline of human subjectivity.Under such conditions, the boundaries between human and non-human species are dissolving, which helps to bridge the gap between species and establish a holistic ecological view.Chapter 1 of the paper provides an overview of the research content from four aspects:background, significance, methods, and innovative points.Chapter 2 confirms the research objectives and creative practice purposes of this paper.Chapters 3 and 4 are the basic parts of the research, analyzing posthuman species relationship theory and creative practice, respectively.Chapter 3 reviews the current research status of posthuman species relationships both domestically and abroad, and identifies two theoretical trends:critical and constructive.Chapter 4 analyzes the artistic creation techniques of works with species relationships as their theme, drawing from creative cases to summarize two modes of creation: incorporation of species relationships into subject formation and the construction of relationships.Chapter 5 expands on posthuman species relationships, exploring the possibility of constructing new relationships between humans and plants in the posthuman perspective, through the analysis of the relationship between humans and plants in the current era and the identity of plants and bonsai.Chapter 6 provides a detailed introduction to the graduation creative practice, focusing on how to shape the technical life forms in the posthuman aesthetic and how to construct posthuman species relationships. The works’ content is analyzed from the perspectives of form, materials, and interaction. This paper argues that in the posthuman era, humans and plants will establish a brand new relationship that is purely intimate on a life level, unrelated to identity.Meanwhile, the weakening of human subjectivity will help reflect on the current ecological relationships. This creative practice takes installation as its form of expression, attempting to create a technological life form and exploring the possibilities of rebuilding the relationships between humans, plants, and nature,as well as reflecting on the necessity of understanding species relationships in the current ecological situation through interaction with the audience.Using pine bonsai as the modeling element, metal and geometric surfaces as materials and textures, and combining shape memory alloy, induction, and heating devices as an interactive system, when the audience approaches, the pine needles on the branches slowly unfold with the characteristic shape memory alloy deformation according to temperature changes, simulating the perception and movement process of life.Through media art language, the work imagines the future relationship between humans and plants as interdependent entities with synesthesia and symbiosis under the context of technological development, and provokes reflection on human identity, status, and responsibility in the current ecological conditions. |
