Adolescence is a critical period in the development of life.Junior high school students who are in adolescence are faced with family, interpersonal, academic and other problems, their way of dealing with the problems is particularly important.Students who grow up in different environments have different levels of parents’ emotional warmth and regulatory emotional self-efficacy,which may affect how they respond to problems. The purpose of this study is to explore the influence of parents’ emotional warmth on problem-focused coping style and the mediating role of regulatory emotional self-efficacy,and to develop a group counseling intervention program suitable for junior middle school students to improve regulatory emotional self-efficacy,and explore its effectiveness and mechanism. This study consists of two parts:In study 1,543 junior high school students in a middle school in Changsha were investigated by using the Parents’ Emotional Warmth Scale, the Scale of Regulatory Emotional Self-efficacy and Problem-focused Coping Style Scale.SPSS 26.0 and JAMOVI 2.3.21 were used to analyze the data, and the relationship between the three variables was discussed. The mediating effect of regulatory emotional self-efficacy on the influence of parents’ emotional warmth on problem-focused coping style was explored. In Study 2,a group counseling program was designed according to the relevant theories of regulatory emotional self-efficacy.According to the results of study 1,eighteen students with low regulatory emotional self-efficacy and problem-focused coping style were selected and randomly divided into experimental group and control group.Nine students in the experimental group received group counseling intervention for 7 times, while nine subjects in the control group did not receive any intervention. The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The emotional warmth of only-child father was significantly higher than that of multiple-child father;Compared with other grades in junior high school, the grade two students were in a disadvantageous state of development, and the score level of each variable was significantly lower than that of other grades; The regulatory emotional self-efficacy of male students was significantly higher than that of female students;Male students were significantly more likely than female students to use problem-focused coping styles.(2)Regulatory emotional self-efficacy played a partial mediating role in predicting the relationship between parents’ emotional warmth and problem-focused coping styles of junior high school students;(3)Regulatory emotional self-efficacy group can play an effective role in improving junior high school students’ regulatory emotional self-efficacy and problem-focused coping style.
