With the rapid development of science and technology and the gig economy, platform enterprises represented by Meituan have changed people’s dining habits, resulting in an increasing number of gig workers represented by takeaway riders, while the flexibility of wide entry and wide output has also made takeaway riders a highly mobile group. The rider group is not only monitored and evaluated by algorithm technology in the labor process, but also needs to pay attention to the requirements and feedback of catering businesses and customers at all times, which makes the pressure faced by riders more complex and multi-sourced.If the stress of riders is not taken seriously,it will lead to mental problems for employees, reduce the operational efficiency of the enterprise and increase labor costs, which may eventually affect the development of the platform. Therefore, this study takes takeaway riders as the research object, and first sorts out the relevant literature on work pressure, turnover tendency and social support at home and abroad. Then, through the 344 valid samples collected through the questionnaire survey, the current situation and relationship of work pressure, turnover tendency and social support of gig workers were discussed by using stratified linear regression methods, and the research conclusions provided a theoretical basis for the controversy over the moderating role of social support in the field of stress research. The results of the study found:(1)The work pressure of gig workers and its four sub-dimensions "regulation pressure","time pressure","alienation pressure" and "physical & mental pressure" were significantly positively correlated with the tendency to leave.(2)Organizational support plays a significant negative moderating role between regulation pressure and turnover tendency, and cannot play a moderating role between time pressure and resignation tendency.(3)Leadership support cannot play a regulating role between regulation pressure, time pressure, and the tendency to leave.(4)Emotional support and instrumental support play a significant negative regulating role between alienation pressure and leaving tendency, but cannot play a regulating role between physical & mental pressure and leaving tendency.
