According to Hierarchy of Needs theory,belongingness need is the basic psychological needs of human beings,and individuals hope to establish a good relationship with others and be accepted by the group.Interpersonal communication is indispensable to the establishment of a good relationship,and there are many factors affecting interpersonal communication.In the group of middle school students,interpersonal sensitivity is worth paying attention to.Interpersonal sensitivity means overly sensitive to others’ behavior,cognition and emotion,which is a personality trait.Many scholars have explored the influencing factors of interpersonal sensitivity from different aspects,but there are few studies on the relationship between bullying experience and interpersonal sensitivity.Exploring the relationship between bullying experience and interpersonal sensitivity of middle school students is of positive significance for maintaining students’ mental health.This study is intended to explore the influence of traditional and cyber bullying experience on interpersonal sensitivity of middle school students and its internal mechanism,and then to conduct group counseling intervention on interpersonal sensitivity of middle school students based on the research results.In study 1,691 middle and high school students from Hubei,Guangxi and Ningxia were tested by the Interpersonal Sensitivity Questionnaire for Middle School Students,Delaware Bullying Victimization Scale-Student,Revised Cyber Bullying Inventory,Perceived Social Support Scale and Core Self-Evaluations Scale.The relationship between traditional bullying experience,cyber bullying experience,perceived social support,core self-evaluation and interpersonal sensitivity were explored.The results showed that:(1)both traditional bullying experience and cyber bullying experience positively predicted interpersonal sensitivity;compared to cyber bullying experience,traditional bullying experience has a greater effect on interpersonal sensitivity.(2)Core self-evaluation partially mediates the effects of both traditional bullying experience and cyber bullying experience on interpersonal sensitivity.(3)Perceived social support and core self-evaluation play a chain mediating role in the effects of both traditional bullying experience and cyber bullying experience on interpersonal sensitivity.In study 2,group counseling was conducted based on the results of study 1 to reduce the interpersonal sensitivity of middle school students.20 high school students with high interpersonal sensitivity and who had experienced bullying were recruited as subjects.Subjects were divided into two group randomly and evenly,which are experimental group and control group.In study 2,students in the control group did not intervene,while students in the experimental group received eight times group counseling(twice a week).The results of study 2 showed that the interpersonal sensitivity level of middle school students is significantly decreased,and the level of perceived social support and core self-evaluation has also been significantly improved after the intervention of group counseling,which verified the effectiveness of group counseling.
