| Learning engagement is not only an important predictor of students’ learning achievement,but also an index to measure the quality of education.Therefore,it becomes an important topic to investigate the status of high school students’ learning engagement and the methods to improve it.At the same time,many high school students face problems such as lack of motivation and biased understanding of learning.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the current situation and seek effective countermeasures.This study attempts to explore the relationship between school climate,psychological capital and learning engagement of high school students,and test the effectiveness of group counseling in improving high school students’ learning engagement.In the first study,a questionnaire survey was conducted among 764 students from a high school in Shiyan to explore the relationship among school climate,psychological capital and learning engagement.In the second study,26 students with psychological capital scores at the bottom 30% of the total sample were selected as participants for group counseling intervention research and randomly assigned to the experimental group(13 students)and control group(13 students).The intervention group received 6 group counseling intervention activities on the theme of psychological capital,while the control group received no intervention.The pre-test and post-test data of the intervention group and the control group were collected for analysis.The results of the study are as follows:(1)School climate positively predicts high school students’ psychological capital and learning engagement;Psychological capital is a significant positive predictor of learning engagement.(2)Psychological capital plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between school climate and high school students’ learning engagement.(3)Group counseling intervention can significantly improve the level of psychological capital of high school students,and thus enhance their learning engagement... |
