Vietnam and China are two neighboring countries with a long-standing relationship.Under the impact of globalization,the relationship between the two countries is deepening and comprehensive.Through exchange and cooperation activities between the two countries in many fields,Chinese culture are closer to Vietnamese youth,especially for high school students.In order to improve the quality of Chinese language teaching in Vietnam,we selected high school students in Ho Chi Minh City as the main research object.The survey on the degree of students’ cultural indentity acceptance was conducted in the following aspects:cultural indentity,art culture,social ideology,customs and habits,oriental medicine,geographical culture,national symbols Based on the analyzed data,we find that the level of co-cultural acceptance of high school students in Ho Chi Minh City is relatively high.Chinese students have a higher level of understanding of Chinese culture than non-Chinese students.In which aspects of cuisine,customs,and cultural geography,students’ level of co-cultural acceptance is higher than other aspects including: calligraphy,literature,architecture,characters,national symbol.From the survey results,the thesis presents the factors that affecting the students’ level of co-cultural acceptance by: learning purpose,Chinese language learning level and the level of love of Chinese culture of students.Among them,learning Chinese is the most influential factor.The thesis also provided some solutions to improve the quality of Chinese language teaching and the level of interest in Chinese culture of learners and teachers,such as: Clearly defining learning purposes;optimize learning facilities;organize new and creative learning activities;building a positive learning atmosphere,etc.The thesis hopes to contribute a small piece of the puzzle in spreading and teaching Chinese to high school students in Ho Chi Minh City.
