A Study On The Epistemic Stance Marker "bu De Bu Shuo"

Epistemic stance marking is a linguistic phenomenon that expresses the speaker’s subjective perception of the state of propositional information.In verbal interaction,"bu de bu shuo" has specific semantic features and pragmatic functions.Based on this,this paper takes "bu de bu shuo" as the object of study,explores its usage,semantics,pragmatics and formation,and tries to reveal the basic appearance and usage rules of its Epistemic stance.This paper is divided into five chapters.In the first chapter,the nature of "bu de bu shuo" is judged,and the relevant research at home and abroad is combed,and the research significance,research methods and sources of corpus are clarified.Chapter 2 examines the usage of the Epistemic stance marker "bu de bu shuo",including the distributional features and its co-occurrence with related words.The distributional features are examined in terms of the position of the word wheel and the sequence position in the spoken discourse.The co-occurrence of "bu de bu shuo" with related words is examined,including the co-occurrence with transitive,progressive and causative related words,and the tendency of "bu de bu shuo" to co-occur with transitive related words is also discussed.Chapter 3 summarizes the semantic features of the Epistemic stance marker "bu de bu shuo".The semantic features of "bu de bu shuo",which means "it is so,it must be pointed out",are de-subjectivity and strong transmission.De-subjectivity means that the speaker expresses his or her personal opinion and position in a way that is close to conveying objective information in order to hide the subjectivity of the discourse;strong credibility means that the speaker is highly confident in his or her subjectivity,and his or her arguments are clearly reasoned and realistic.Chapter 4 explores the discursive functions of the Epistemic stance marker "bu de bu shuo",including the interpersonal interaction function and the coherent construction function.The interpersonal interaction function is to seek identification and strengthen the position,while the coherent construction function is divided into two aspects: the local coherent construction function and the macro coherent construction function.Chapter 5 analyzes the formation of "bu de bu shuo" over time.This chapter analyzes the formation process,motivation and mechanism."bu de bu shuo" has experienced the evolution process from the semantic verb phrase to the emphasis adverb to the Epistemic stance marker,and the motivation of formation mainly includes the drive of communicative strategies and high-frequency use,while the formation mechanism includes reanalysis,decategorization and pragmatic reasoning.
