A Report On The Chinese-English Translation Of Red Tourism In Xibaipo From The Perspective Of Eco-Translatology

The report,based on the theory of Eco-translatology,takes the translation of the official website of Xibaipo Red Scenic Spot in Shijiazhuang as an example and attempts to analyze the characteristics of the red tourism text from three dimensions,i.e.the linguistic dimension,the cultural dimension and the communicative dimension,with the aim of letting more people understand the history of the Chinese revolution and the essence of the nation to better spread and carry forward the patriotic spirit of our country.First,at the level of linguistic dimension,the author discusses the methods of part of speech conversion,word order adjustment and proper sentence segmentation.Attention should be paid to the conversion of parts of speech in the process of English-Chinese translation when translating Chinese,a dynamic language which prefers using verbs to English,a static language that prefers using nouns and prepositions.Moreover,Chinese sentences have a bamboo knot structure while English sentences have a tree structure.This difference should be noted in the translation process,and the restriction of word order in the original text should be broken through sentence restructuring.Second,in the aspect of cultural dimension,the author starts from the interpretation and supplement,and pays attention to the addition of explanatory language in the process of translation,which enable the readers to better understand the historical and cultural knowledge behind the text,so as to better understand the history of the Chinese revolution.Third,the biggest purpose of tourism text is to attract tourists;therefore,considering communicative dimension,attention should be paid to the interactivity of the translation,and the text should be able to stimulate the interest of readers.Based on this translation practice,the author finds that the three-dimensional transformation perspective of eco-translatology can well guide the translation of red tourism texts,which is beneficial for readers or tourists to better understand the history and culture of the scenic spots and the red spirits of the Chinese revolution.
