| The present dissertation deals with the taxonomy of funnel-web spiders (Araneae:Agelenidae) from Hunan, China. Five parts are included:Partâ… deals with the brief history of research on the spider family Agelenidae, and its morphology and taxonomy. The brief history of research on spiders in Hunan is also included in this part.Partâ…¡is a detailed study of 58 species belonging to 13 genera. Collecting data, detailed description and measurement, material examined, geographical distribution, color photos and inked pictures are given to each species. Comparison of relative species and etymology of all the new species are present.Partâ…¢includes conclusions and discussions. The taxonomic result includes 1 new genus,7 new species (including one published),1 new male supplement,4 new synonyms and 4 new combination. The detailed information is as follows.1 new genus:Macrocoelotes gen. nov..7 new species:Coelotes gyratus sp. nov.; Macrocoelotes curvus sp. nov.; Platocoelotes bifidus Yin et al.,2010; Platocoelotes paraimpletus sp. nov. Platocoelotes particularis sp. nov.; Tonsilla globoidea sp. nov.; Tonsilla paratautispinus sp. nov..4 new synonyms:Agelena sangzhiensis Wang, 1991 (male)= Agelena koreana Paik,1965; Agelena sangzhiensis Wang, 1991 (female)= Allagelena difficilis (Fox,1936); Coelotes jucundus Chen et Zhao,1997= Coelotes plancyi Simon,1880; Coelotes hengshanensis Tang et Yin,2003= Draconarius adligansus (Peng et Yin, 1998).4 new combination:Coelotes indistinctus Xu et Li,2006 is transferred into Macrocoelotes gen. nov.; Coelotes plancyi Simon,1880 into the genus Iwogumoa; Coeltoes yanlingensis (Zhang Yin et Kim, 2000) into the genus Tonsilla; Draconarius Xu et Li,2008 into Macrocoelotes gen. nov..Partâ…£and partâ…¤contain 9 maps and 130 plates.183 color photos and 222 inked pictures are included in 130 plates.
