In the technology of cell microinjection used widely today, there are some disadvantages including complexity of system used in finding, positioning and holding and injecting cell, low precision of the microinjection volume controlling and so on . It is an important subject of cell engineering to research the technology of cell microinjection, which can handle cell more easy, control volume more accurately and inject cell more successfully.The micro-fluidic digital technology is an important research of micro-system lab in Nanjing University of Science and Technology lately. There are some creative theories in the micro-fluidic digital technology , which exploits the Held of the digital matter transportation , equaled with the digital information , the digital energy transmission or solid movement. In this paper, the applied research of cell micro-injection is based on the micro-fluidic digital technology above .1 he creative achievements on the theoretic research of the digital cell micro-injection technology, the design and fabrication of the corresponding equipment and the research of the cell micro-injection experiment are described as follow.The author brings forward the theory, which is to transport cell, to hold cell and to inject cell automatically, and which is to separate the uninjecled cells from the injected ones and to count them by sending out cells actively not finding them passively.The digital automatic cell feeding device was manufactured. On the basis of research about experiments of the automatic feeding , holding and injecting the living cells , it is achieved that the micron level automatic feeding in cell micro-injection, holding and releasing the feeded cell by using holding device, and digital control of cell feeding ,holding and releasing in turn.The author puts forward the thoughts on the design of the digital micro-injection device. In the thoughts, the puncturing movement is controled by electrostrictive ceramic micro-displacement device and the volume is controlled by the piezoelectric ceramic micro-displacement device. The original creative digital micro-injection device was manufactured and used to do experiment of micro-volume injection.The principle prototype of micropipette puller and micro-forger -corresponding micro tools fabrication equipments were manufactured, which worked reliably, were close to commercial level. They can produce the appropriate micro-injection micropipettes , cell feeding microchannels and cell holding needles in the digital cell microinjection experiment.The author build the critical jet model of glass micropipette, and achieve the results of geometry and energy condition of micropipette critical jet flow by the model.
