Michael Faraday is one of the most important physicists in the 19th century. Not only has he made so many discoveries which play important roles in developing human civilization, but also he gives Thought of Lines of Force and Field Theory, all of these have very important influence on the successors'researches. The initial discovering process of Faraday's discoveries and his rudiments of science thoughts are all recorded and described thoroughly in his diary. Based on Faraday's Diary, his papers and letters, and the previous researches of other scholars, the dissertation makes a comprehensive and deep investigation on the experimental process of some Faraday's important discoveries, try to give proper evaluation for these discoveries and elucidate the development process of his Thought of Lines of Force. It also tries to make a great effort to clear some misunderstanding and mistakes in previous studies. It put forward special viewpoints for next topic studies:Firstly, the dissertation illustrates Faraday's experiment progress of discovering the phenomena of electromagnetic rotations and his other correlative researches. By comparing Faraday's research with Ampère's and Wollaston's researches, it explains Faraday's research uses for reference of both Ampère's & Wollaston's researches, but Faraday has his own characteristic methods during his progress, this is the reason why he is successful. It also reveal the exact cause of Faraday's research, the original experimental instrument and the guide line, and then clarify some differences and mistakes in previous studiesSecondly, based on the analysis and study of Faraday's Diary and his published articles, the dissertation elucidates the establishment process of Faraday's Electromagnetic Induction Law and his change in thought during this period. It elucidates Faraday has foreseen the instantaneity of the induced current before his discovery of electromagnetic induction; the date affixed to Faraday's article is earlier than the exact time, so people should not judge the formation time of Faraday's discoveries and theories according to the article's signature date; there is a change in Faraday's thought from"Electrotonic State"to"Lines of Magnetic Force"during his research on electromagnetic induction, the Thought of Lines of Force is founded and established.Thirdly, the dissertation elucidates the process of Faraday's researches on Terrestrial Magneto-Electric Induction., discusses Faraday's research method and his scientific thought during this period. In the study of Terrestrial Magneto-Electric Induction, Faraday finds out the relations among electric force, electricity, and electric obstacle, he then reveals the contents of Ohms Law.Fourthly, the dissertation elucidates Faraday's study on Arago's Experiments. It shows that Faraday's study on Arago's Experiments and his researches on Electromagnetic Induction complement each other. Faraday's research on Electromagnetic Induction provides the way of explaining Arago's Experiments, on the other hand, Arago's Experiments provides valuable materials for Faraday's study on Electromagnetic Induction and promotes his study on this phenomenon.Fifthly, the dissertation analyzes the guiding principle of Faraday's research on electrostatic induction, introduces the process of his research, elucidates that Faraday's research on electrostatic induction is based on his theory of"Electrotonic State", and explains that the study on electrolysis has an important influence on his research on electrostatic induction.Sixthly, based on Faraday's Diary and other correlated materials, the dissertation makes analysis and discussion of the formation & development of Faraday's thought of lines of force and some other correlated questions, elucidates the tight link between Faraday's thought of lines of force and his experimental researches, and illustrate the basic content and significance of Faraday's thought of lines of force. It elucidates that Faraday's Thought of Lines of Force is one of important contents of classical electromagnetism, and it plays an important role in the generation of Maxwell's electromagnetism. Finally, the dissertation analyzes and summarizes some characteristics of Faraday's research on electromagnetism, and reveals the significance of Faraday's discoveries and theories.
