It is very important to study the complexes of uranium, thorium and rare earth in the process of extracting and refining nuclear fuel materials, the treatment of radioactive wastes, the production of isotope, the environmental chemistry of nuclides migration, etc. The key of optimizing separation and extraction is to form stable extracts and well entering in solvents.The actinides are often simulated by using lanthanide in experimental studies, since their half-life is very long with high toxicity. The study of lanthanide elements can provide valuable support for the study of actinide elements.The nuclides migration in disposal environment is very complicate process, to study complexes of uranium, thorium and lanthanide is necessary due to the migration of nuclear species is influenced by humid acid, the radioactive species is transported, sediment and resorted by forming complexes. The radioactive contamination often be eliminated by cheating agent which can form stable complexes. So, study these coordination complexes hassignificant role not only in theory but also in practical application. Sixteen ligands which are derived from salicylidene-ethylenediamine(L'), salicylidene-benzidine(L2), o-vanillie and benzid-ine(L3), o-vanillie-o-phenylene-diamine(L4), salicylidene-o-phenyl-ened-iamine(L5), o-vanillin-ethylenediamine(L6), salicylidene-p-phenyl-enedi-amine(L7), o-vanillin and anthra-nilic acid(H2L8), o-vanillin p-phenyl-enediamine(L9), salicylidene-anthranilic acid (H2L10), salicylideneph-enylalanine, o-vanillin- phenylalanine, salicylidene-leucine salicylidene-valine, 2,2'bipiridine have been synthesized, and more than one hundred coordination complexes which are U, Th and RE (rare-earth) coordinated with these ligands have been synthesized. All these complexes are first reported by author. These ligands and complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, gravity analysis, complexometric titration , IR, UV, DTA-TG, molar conductance and x-ray diffraction analysis.The compositions of U-complex series were confirmed to be [(U02)m(HJLn)x .(N03)b -(C2H5OH)C -(H2O)d](NO3)c (m=l,2 n=l~10 x=l,3 a=0,l b=0,l c=0~2 d=0,l e=0~2).The compositions of Th-complex series were confirmed to be [Thm(HaL11)x-(N03)b.(H20)d](N03)e.(H20)l{m=l,2 n=l~10 x=l,3 a=0,l b=0~4 d=0,l e=0~4 f=0,l).The compositions of RE-complex series were confirmed to be [REm(HaL")x ?(N03)b ?(H20)d](N03)e - (H2O)f (m=l,2 n=l,2,4,8 x=l,3 a=0,l b=0~3 d=0,l e=0~3 f=0~4.
