In this dissertation, the application of low temperature sensitivity coefficient (LTSC) high-energy nitroamine propellant in a 105mm gun has been studied theoretically and experimentally. The LTSC coated propellant ingredient calculation program, the closed vessel and gun experiment data processing program and the ballistic simulation program, which can simulate gun interior ballistic performances based on closed vessel experiment data, have been programmed with visual program design method. The reasons causing gun propellant charge temperature coefficient and the methods of reducing charge temperature coefficient and increasing gun projectile muzzle velocity have been studied. The coating processes and quality checking methods for low temperature coefficient coated high-energy nitroamine propellant have been studied Based on the experiment data treatment and comparison of LTSC propellant combustion properties in closed vessel with that in gun, we found that there are some combustion functions in closed vessel are similar to that in gun. This is the theoretical foundation for simulating the gun interior ballistic performance using the closed vessel experiment. Based on the functions from closed vessel experiments, the ballistic simulation results of maximum chamber pressure, muzzle velocity and p-t curves of a 105mm gun charged with LTSC nitroamine propellant at +50C, +15C and -40℃ environmental temperature were in good agreement with experimental data.
