This thesis is mainly motivated by the project of "The system designing of the drain sand using jet pumps and the software development in the petroleum well" in the affiliated petroleum corporation of Liaohe River and the utilization of the new technology and new methods, brought forward in the production of the crude oil, of the drain sand of the petroleum well. The fundamental theories of the jet pump are systemically and comprehensively investigated. In combination with the experiments performed, the numerical simulations of the turbulent jet characteristics for the single phase jet pump and of the essential performances for the liquid-solid two phases jet pump are carried out. Based on these, for the sake of the applicability of the engineering, the software of the system designing of the drain sand using jet pumps in the petroleum well is developed.The thesis is divided into seven sections. In the first chapter, the background and the significance of this research have been expounded. The application circumstances in all kinds of areas and the present research situation of the jet pump at home and abroad have been introduced in details. The main frames of the thesis are also put forward in the first section.After pointing out the existent problems in the basic theory of the present research for the jet pump, we completely and systematically studied the basic characteristics of the jet pump, and thereby basic theories have been made perfect in the second chapter. Taken these as a foundation, the capitation erosion characteristics and the export pressure stability of the jet pump are developed, and the optimization area ratio in the theory is obtained. The energy distribution and its influence factors to the flow field in the jet pump are further analyzed. These provide a reliable basis for raising the jet pump efficiency.In the third chapter, the numerical calculation of the turbulent jet for the singlephase jet pump are carried out based on the experimental research and its basic characteristics are obtained. The influences of the throat mouth distance on the turbulent jet are mainly investigated.In the fourth chapter, the basic characteristics of the liquid-solid two phase jet pump while transforming solid particles are gained by numerical simulation to it. The influence of the parameters such as the diameter and initial concentration of the solid particles on the jet pump are studied. These results make a theoretical foundation for the software development of the drain sand using the jet pump in the petroleum well.The experimental equipments are established and experiments of the basic characteristics of the jet pump are performed on it in the fifth chapter. The data of the experiments provided a basis compared to the results of the numerical calculation.Application software of the system designing for the drain sand using the jet pump in the petroleum well is developed. Its application in the practical engineering and good effects gained are expounded in the sixth chapter.In the last chapter, we generalized the main research contents and conclusions in this paper and the future works of this topic are concisely explained.
