Title of the Dr.degree's Thesis: The Preparation Technology of Molecularly Imprinted Polymers and the ApplicationsIntroduction of the Author: Li Zhiwei, male, born in May of 1977, began his study as a PhD candidate under the supervision of Professor Yang Geng-Liang since 2003, specializing in analytical chemistry.Abstract: Robust molecular recognition elements with antibody-like ability to bind and discriminate between molecules or other structures can today be synthesized by molecular imprinting techniques. This includes the synthesis of cross-linked polymers in the presence of templates which may be small molecules, biological macromolecules, microorganisms or whole cells. Removal of the template from the formed polymer thus generates a structure complementary to the template structure or to an analogous structure. There are three parts which cover some aspects of the synthesis, adsorption isotherm and applications of the imprinted materials. The paper is divided into seven chapters. The first chapter discussed the histrical perspective and fundamental aspects on the synthesis, recognition and application of the imprinted polymers. The next four chapters contain the bulk, emulsion, in-suit polymerization with high temperature and y-ray initiation methods. The sixth chapter investigated the adsorption isotherm of the nicotinamide imprinted polymers. In the last chapter, the applications of the MIP on the on-line preconcentration are concluded. The MIPs which have been synthesized by different methods are used to separate template, its analogues and chiral compounds. Nicotinamide, triadimenol, fluconazole, M207 and amlodipine are used as the templates to synthesize the MIPs, which are used to investigate the separation, Langmuir and Freundlich adsoption isotherms of the drugs above. The on-line pre-concentration method fits for trace analysis.
