The photoelectric functional materials are of the novel and important field due to their extensive applications. "Functional coordination" is basic study field with potential applications and correlated tightly with the material and informatics. Based on the idea, we designed a series of organic ligands with strong TPA effect and optical properties. Merit functional coordination complexes were obtained, which have the advantages of organic and inorganic units. Main research results were concludes as follow.1. The recent developments in the research for light functional coordination complexes were reviewed based on a great deal of related literatures.2. Three novel rigid compounds (3, 6-bis[2-(4-pyridyl)ethenyl]-9-ethylcarbazole (L~1), 3,6-bis[2-(2-pyridyl)ethenyl]-9-ethylcarbazole (L~2), 3,6-bis[2-(4-pyridyl)ethenyl]-9 -ethylpyridylcarbazole (L~3)) were successfully synthesized by Heck reaction, which were fully characterized by elemental analyses, NMR, MS, IR spectra and single X-ray diffraction analysis. Their structural characterizations were studied in detail. The results of calculated two-photon absorption cross-sections and nonlinear optical determination revealed that these compounds exhibit strong TPA effect and can be regarded as efficient two-photon photopolymerization initiators in application for three- dimensional microstructures technology.3. A series of the novel supramolecular complexes were obtained by self-assembling of L~1, L~2 and mercury, zinc and cadmium salts through coordinate bonds, π-π interactions, hydrogen bonds and interatomic force. Their crystal structures, linear and nonlinear optical properties were studied in detail.4. Two novel flexible compounds (3, 6-diimidazolelyl-9-ethylcarbazole (L~4), 3, 6-dipyrazolyl-9-ethylcarbazole (L~5)) were successfully synthesized in high yield by Ullmann reaction, which were fully characterized by elemental analyses, elemental analyses, NMR, MS, IR spectra and single X-ray diffraction analysis.
