Digital holography as a hot research topic in recent years is a combination of optic holography, computer technique and electronic imaging technique. It improved greatly with the recent ongoing development of CCD device and computer performance. This technology will have great potential application in the areas such as cell viewing, microcircuit examination, grain size analysis, experimental stress analysis, 3-D objects deformation measurement, transparent field measurement etc.The anodic dissolution of iron in sulfuric acid solution is a complex process including active dissolution and passivation. Current oscillations will also occur at a certain range of potential. It is helpful to know well of the electrochemical behavior and corrosion mechanism by the study of this process. It can also help to find effective inhibition materials. In this paper digital holography was used to study in situ the dynamic changes of the electrode/solution interface and the solution near the electrode during the anodic process of iron in sulfuric acid solution. A detailed explanation of this process was carried out. The effects of the composition of the solution on this process were studied by change artificially the micro-environment at the near surface of the electrode. The effects of chloride ion, bromide ion, iodine ion on this process were also investigated. The magnetic field would also have effects on the process. The main contents of this paper art as the following:1. Study of the anodic dissolution of iron in sulfuric acid solution by digital holographyThe dynamic process of the electrode/solution interface during anodic dissolution of iron in sulfuric acid solution was studied in situ by digital holography. The solution part and the electrode part would change their condition during...
