The Three Gorges Project is the biggest artificial dam in the world. After the operation of the dam, the gydrologic condition will change and the water level rises and falls seasonally which leads to the consequence of alternative domination of land ecosystem and aquatic ecosystem on the banks. Thus the adjacent area of the the reservoir will be in an unstable state which may incur environmental problems.The land resource in the wet-dry area of the Three Gorges Reservoir has relatively high protential capacity of produce and multi-functions considering the contradiction between dwellers and land resource. On the other hand, the wet-dry land may have negative effects on many aspects such as ecology, society, economy and human hygeian and have pressure on the aquatic environment protection and sanitary construction. There is a large industrial population and many towns in the Three Gorges Area. After the wet-dry area formed, it will be impacted by human activities especially the widen areas expect the crayon type wet-dry area. Based on the investigation and analys of the characteristics and pollution states, it's concluded that the wet-dry area will become a new pollutuion source and enhance the possibility of the eutrophication of the reservoir if no suitable proction measures are taken. Thus the research on the re-constrution of the ecosystem and its health evaluation is very important. In this report, based on the theory of the ecosystem health and anlysis of protential protection methods, the health indicator system is eablished. The calcuation shows that,'conservation protection model','pilot ecosystem construction mode''wet-dry land protection model'have positive effect on the health of wet-dry land while'agricultural development model'have negagtive impacts on the wet-dry land's health. Furthermore, the surrounding factors such as human quality, management level play important roles in the ecosystem health. Promote the huam qualtiy, enhance the ability of local administrations, and public's wet-dry land protection awarence will be crucial to the stable of wet-dry land and development.
