With the popularity of green finishing, It is of significance to develop environmental friendly finishing techniques of cotton fabric. In this project, we used biotic-chemical method, a super soft method which combines cellulase treatment with chemical softener finishing on cotton fabric to improve its hand and comfort character . People usually used chemical softener on cotton fabric to improve fabric's soft character, which was possessd of absorbing lubricity, and could not result a permanent soft handle. Cellulase could catalyze the cotton fabric's hydrolysis, and raise its softness ,but could weaken fibre. Both of these two methods had advantage and disadvantage. If the two methods were combined together, they could make up the other one's defect .Cellulase could form a permanent softness and softener could not only improve soft effect further but also reduce the strength loss made by cellulase's hydrolysis, and the best super soft process determined in this paper. We found that fabric's hand treated by super soft process had been improved largely, and the fabric's wetting -comfort character would be improved largely.Cellulase L and WM were selected to treat cotton fabrics for soft finishing. The characters of cellulase were studied and optimized process parameter in the thesis. .In the process of cotton fibres treated with cellulase, caused significant increasement in coppor number, so obvious chemical damages of cotton were created by the enzymatic treatment. The cotton fibres treated with cellulase are developed of cracks in the axis direction, and increased surface peeling and pores which are useful for softer to penetrate.The synthesization and microemulsification technology of new ecological fabric softeners-triethanolamine stearic acid ester betaine were developed. Because the appropriate surfactant and secondary surfactant, microemulsion prepared is good in stability. The fabric was processed with prepared softeners and marketable softeners, the performance of dynamic and static friction modulus, tearing intensity, whiteness and moisture absorption instantly and others of the finished fabric by prepared softeners were increased. The performance of softener microemulsion was better than that of its common emulsion.The prepared betaine softener as a amphoteric surfactant had not onlygood softness but good biological resolvability.When the fabric was finished, its hand was one important index evaluated and measured the fabric's level, but how to evaluate the fabric's hand was a problem which had not been resolved. The Fuzzy sets and Expert system were developed become a tool for evaluating the hand and whole properties of fabrics in this paper. This system was an intellectual computer procedure, it could update knowledge and modify the system to adjust to the different needs usually. To using the system could solve the dispersive and inferior comparable problems caused by evaluating with single property indexes . It could have wonderful practical value and would be a good assistant for textile industry and consumers while they evaluate fabrics.
