China is one of the largest wool processing countries in the world, but technology is not an advanced one. In recent years China has imported many advanced wool processing facilities, but there is still a gap with advanced countries on adoption of advanced technology and management skill. As everyone knows, high technique, high quality, high efficient and low process cost is the goal of the international manufacturing technique, particularly the computer information. It develops quickly enough to change the people's conception and the life. Although the Chinese wool spinning industry has some development and progress on science technique and production controls, it doesn't get away from the experience control mode in quality control yet. At the same time, it lacks scientific and systemic prediction method and techniques. This problem is usually because of lacking of understanding on the relationship between yarn quality demand and the fiber function. It often leads the fiber function couldn't satisfy the circumstance, the cost and qualities. Or it improves some functions by using new material, but other functions descend, or develop the high cost, instability quality, or process fitting the raw material need too long period etc., To sum up, the development technique of most products is still in low level. The ability that adapts the fast reaction of market is not strong enough. The use of diagnosis and the prediction techniques which come from the expert system's meaning is necessary.Prediction technique is one of the advance means of the quality control. "Prediction and Quality Control on Worsted Wool Yarn's Elasticity Index " is a high new technique, and it takes good use on wool spinning management. It can improve the raw material structure and reduce the material cost; optimize techniques; Shorten the product exploration period and raise and stabilize product quality. With the development in science and technology and adjustment of the industrial structure of the world, every main producing country of worsted textile products pays attention to the researching and developing of the quality prediction and control inraw materials and processing course more and more, in order to reduce raw materials and process cost, shorten the development period of the new products, improve the market competitive power of enterprises. In the processing of the worsted wool, Spinning is a key process. Because its cost is 3-4 times than whole top's manufacture process, and the quality of fabric mainly depends on the yarn's quality. Thereby, for the worsted wool mill, prediction technology is very important economically by worth to improve the quality of the yarn and spinning performance.With the improvement of people's living standard and the transition of aesthetic standards, people's requirement to the comfortableness of the clothing increases steadily. The development of the elastic wool fabric is rising in the international market. The factors weighing the fabrics' elasticity should include: elastic modulus, recovery ability of shape change, breaking elongation etc. The elastic modulus is generally used in the pure theory analyses, and the test of recovery ability of shape change is more complicated, so breaking elongation and breaking intensity are often used as the indirect expression of elasticityWith referring to quantity of materials and testing elongation of yarns made from pure Australian wool, the elongation of yarn made from pure Australian wool and influential factors are analyzed in details, from three aspects that are structure and quality of Australian wool and breaking principle of yarn. Furthermore, corresponding predicting model can be gained in experiment by using statistic software SPSS 10.0 to analyze data. And the predicting model is about the quality indexes of the Australian wool top influence the yarn's breaking intensity (yt) and breaking elongation (ye). Based on a great deal of industry data, model is built according to count of yarn to promote predicting accuracy. In this project, three parts are analyzed with curve fitting, and then mathematical model is built. Three parts are the truss of mathematical model, influence degree of each imported parameter and correlation among imported parameters. Coefficient in the model is confirmed by using the statistical method, trying to obtain an excellent correlation coefficient nonlinear mathematics model.Predict technology has the following function as a kind of quality control means: predict yarn quality and spinning capability, optimize top, and adjust technics. Predictmodel controls its elasticity by the elongation of the yarn in order to get good elastic fabric. This research was financed by National Economic Department technology innovation project "Prediction and Quality Control in Top Processing and Spinning Processing". Through the Lanzhou Sanmao and Shandong Ruyi Company's probation, this project has got stabile and perfect effect. Through the expert group examine, it has reached the advanced level of the world.
