Acoustic emission(AE) technique of predicting rock and coal dynamic catastrophe is thetendency of non-contact prediction technique. Based on the project of national basic researchprogram of China (also called 973 Program) (2005CB221505),the significant project of nationalnatural science fund (50534080/E041503),the project of coal mine gas and fire hazard preventionmajor lab in Henan province(HKLGF200508), On the basic of aggregate analysis for engineeringpractice and technical achievements of AE predicting rock and coal dynamic catastrophe,mechanical experiments,theory analysis,numerical calculation and actual measurement areaggregate applied, AE propagation mechanism of the rock and coal and project application arechiefly studied:(1) Based on actual AE proceeding mechanism, the spherical cavity model and AE stresswave equation are produced, AE stress wave propagation attenuation characters are analyzed;on the basis of quality factor(Q), AE stress wave propagation attenuation equation are deduced;Based on Biot theory, the two-phase substance constitutive equations of coal containing gasand AE signal of coal containing gas wave equation are produced, shear wave equation of coalcontaining gas is consistent with the single-phase and longitudinal wave equation of coalcontaining gas is inconsistent with the single-phase. The propagation attenuation curve of coalcontaining gas are gived according to actual research. The results of numerical simulation andactual research validate theory model.(2) Based on correlative wave dynamics theory and actual circs, one dimension waveguide theory mechanical model and correlative hypothesis are set up, on the theory model,Lab experiment and numerical simulation are studied, the result validate rationality of theorymodel.(3) Based on many actual experiments of AE signal propagation of rock and coal, AEsignal spectrum difference of different sensor fixing methods,different distance AE signalpropagation attenuation rule,effect of structural plane on AE signal propagation and AE signalpropagation characteristic of different rock and coal.(4) During the course of the project application of rock and mine propagation productions,wave guide propagation productions,sensor fixing arts and crafts productions andAE signal data analysis methods in Laohutai coal mine, five rock burst are predicted, themethods of. tendency prediction are analyzed.
