●SignificanceShanghai has played a key role in the economic and social development in the region of Yangzi river.Qingpu district,one of the suburbs in Shanghai,is located in the crossing boundaries among Zhejiang,Jiangsu provinces and Shanghai city,and also in the central part of Yangtse Rive economic zone.Therefore it links the west area of Shanghai to the east area in east China together,and has spread its energy into the east China.Recently both of its economics and town construction have achieved great progress in variant industries.However the protection for its Bio-environment faces more and more challenges.As Qingpu district is a typical town where urbanization is quite predominant,the studies on protection for its eco-environment can not only play a direct supervise for itself,but also give use for reference in eco-city construction of other cities.In this doctor thesis,Qingpu district was taken as a case study,tow methods were chosen,ecological sensitive division and coupling between eco-environment and urbanization,for studying the appraisal of eco-environment.They are considered to be hot points in studies on eco-city,and attract emphasis from research groups concerned.The results can become the base for eco-city planning and construction.Ecological sensitive division is one valuable method for appraisal of advancing ecological city and the main part for regional development planning,and the divided zones belong to important spatial of city,as one selectable way for ecological function division.Therefore the protection of ecological sensitive zones should be one way in city sustainable development and its research is effective on coordinating urbanization and eco-environment.Under city ecological advancing,two systems urbanization and eco-environment have effected on each other by their coupling factors,called eco-environmental coordinating degree.It figures action intensity and contribution for society,economics and environment.So the action relation and coupling mechanism for two systems are the most important in urbanization research.And the study on coupling and coordinating can be seen as one starting point for following out the sustainable development and building up harmonious society.●OutlineWith the help of adva(?)ced knowledge on ecological sensitive division,this paper has finished the analysis about four factors:soil,landform,vegetation,land utilizing within Qingpu district 669.69km~2,by integrating remote sensing(RS) from satellite(1/50000) with field investigating.Here RS choose TM543 wave band and two years 2000 and 2004.18 piece of figures with single factors mentioned above,2 piece of figures with river,traffic and town distribution have been drawn.An appraisal model and a spatial debase have been made.Then ecological sensitive level has been identified.With the basic work done,the paper predicted the ecological trend,divided non-sensitive,low sensitive,middle sensitive and high sensitive zones.The remote sensing,GIS and integration of GIS with field investigation were used together.And concemed with area characters and polluting problems,some measure and suggestions of environmental protection and pollution control were put forward.Based on grey theory,the index system and the appraisal model for Coupling urbanization and eco-environment were built.The model includes coupling degree function,grey associative degree matrix and coordinating degree.According to the model,taking Qingpu district as a case,urbanization index acting on eco-environment and ecological environment index contracted on urbanization were chosen,and with coupling and coordinating degree calculated,the main coupling factors between urbanization and eco-environment,temporal rule of coordinating in Qingpu district have been analyzed,and the eco-environmental changing rule in urbanization has been found out.●Main Conclusions and Innovation①Formed two concept frames for appraising ecological sensitive degree(theory base) and for choosing appraisal index system(theory reason) respectively. ②Improved the appraisal procedure for ecological sensitive degree,raised reliability of sensitive appraise and enhanced its value by GIS technology and building up the appraisal debase of ecological sensitive behavior.And laid the solid base for dynamic appraise.③It is known that land use pattern reflects the effects on eco-environment from artificial factors.This was utilized as artificial factors in ecological sensitive degree appraisal.This appraisal method combines the disturb from artificial factors to eco-environment with spatial date and behavior date,leading to the more available appraise.④Coupling urbanization to eco-environment reflects intimidating action on eco-environment from urbanization and restricting action on urbanization from eco-environment.In the paper 18 urbanization and 12 eco-environment index were chosen.And in accordance with related reports,their up and down limit values were determined.⑤Based on gray theory,the coupling and coordinating between urbanization and eco-environment from 1995 to 2006 were analyzed empirically.It is an increasing shaped curves for the temporal evolvement of the coupling and coordinating degrees during the period of 1997-2006 that can be divided into two stages,which can reveal the characteristics of temporal rule of the coupling and coordinating degree.In the first stage,the coupling degrees remain the low level and the coordinating degrees transition period during which the coordination between urbanization and eco-environment escaped from maladjustment state into coordinating with low level. In the second stages,the coupling degrees go up to the compact linking and the coordinating degrees to harmonious state,which implies urbanization and eco-environment going to the path with parallel development.
