The study background of this thesis is the engineering and mining conditions of Huainan mining area, China. Several study methods, such as numerical simulation, theoretical study, experiments in situ and in lab, were adopted in this thesis. The influence of Vertical deformation in subsidence area due to underground mining on soil physical and mechanical properties and its engineering applications are studied deeply and systematically. By numerical simulation on vertical movement and deformation of soil disturbed by underground mining in subsidence area, vertical movement and deformation curve of soil after disturbance relative relations with mining conditions are obtained. With theoretical analysis, vertical deformation curve of soil after disturbance relative relations with soil physical and mechanical properties relations were studied deeply. Conception of disturbance rate was presented firstly. Relation equations of disturbance rate and soil physical and mechanical properties were established. These theoretical results were verified by experiments with natural and disturbed soil samples. In the last part of this thesis, ground improvement theory and design calculation methods of bridge subgrade in subsidence area were presented on background of a real project. Several useful results were obtained.
