This thesis presents the studies on the large-area synthesis ofâ…¡-â…¥group one-dimensional semiconductor nanoarrays, utilizing the hydrothermal method and layer-by-layer deposition. And their field emission properties are investigated. The main conclusions are as follows:1. Large area of ZnO nanorod arrays with different aspect ratios are fabricated through a hydrothermal process, and their field emission properties are investigated. The results show increasing aspect ratio, in certain extent, will prove the field emission properties of ZnO nanorod arrays.2. Large area of ZnO/CuS and ZnO/PbS core/shell nanorod arrays are fabricated by layer-by-layer deposition using ZnO nanorod arrays as templates. The J-V characteristics show there are pn heterojunctions. Then the field emission properties of pn heterojunction arrays are investigated.3. Large area of CdS nanotube arrays are fabricated by layer-by-layer deposition using ZnO nanorod arrays as templates. The wall thickness can be tuned by controlling the numbers of deposition cycles. The results show the wall thickness is the key role to determine the nanotubes'field emission properties.
