Obtaining the surface movement parameters of new mine and studying the laws of overburden rock dynamic damage are important to reasonable planning and safety producing. Through rock mechanics tests, similar material model test and numerical analysis and combining the prediction principle of probability integral method, and comparing with actual measurement data of similar geological and mining conditions, this paper obtained angles parameters and surface prediction parameter of newly-built WANGJIALING MINE, revealed the laws of overburden damage in fully-mechanized sub-level caving under thick loess layer. The arched structure and archless structure were put forward in the bottom strata, and the archless structure looped forward with panel advancing. Under the thick loess layer, around the key strata layer destroyed, the laws of overburden strata movement and deformation and stress changing were studied, and illustrating the interaction between thick loess layer and bedrock, the loess layer affected little to the below strata of key layer before destroyed, with the key layer destroying, the below strata were gradually compressed. This paper also revealed the height of fissure zone above the goaf linearly increasing with panel advancing. The results have been applied to WANGJIALING MINE, directing the panels' arrangement of first mining area, predicting the damage degree of mining, and putting forward the treatment advice of village above panel.
