Changes occurred on surface structures and ecological environmentcaused by underground mining of coal resources, and distinctlydifferences between mining under thick loess and thin bedrock and othergeological conditions, make it important to study further on groundmovement and deformation laws of mining under thick loess and thinbedrock to mining land reclamation, environmental protection and safestoping of "under three" pressed coal. The case study is the1101first work face of Sima coal, Changzhimining area, Lu’an Group. Observation station of surface movement wasbuilt on the work face, and ground movement and deformation wasmeasured actually, and based on that, angle dimension parameters ofsurface movement of strata were obtained, and features of surfacemovement and deformation caused by mining under thick loess wereanalyzed, then it is known that surface movement was inaccurate, causedby mining under thick loess using probability integral method based onstochastic medium theory. So that method was revised. At last, thenumerical simulation model was developed based on FLAC3Dnumericalsimulation software according to geological conditions of the1101firstwork face, to study ground movement and deformation laws of miningunder thick loess from the vertical stress distribution and the verticaldisplacement of surrounding rock and the failure of ground vertical andhorizontal displacement deformation, and to study the effect of miningdepth and thickness on ground movement and deformation.
