In the late 20th century, with the increasing deepening of ecological crisis and with it spreading across the whole world, there appeared mass movement which demanded human living environment should be protected. Ecological thinking and ecological angle of view also started to permeate through the research thinking, and people began to search and explain all the historically important theories, doctrines or texts so as to find the good solutions to the modern ecological crisis. Marx and Engels'ecological outlook just appeared from many lines of sight in such a social atmosphere and theory background. The West paid the earlist attention to the relationship between Marx, Engels and ecology.At present the academic circles in China have also shown concern to it, but they have not done systematic, overall and special research, which is a pity in our ecological and philosophical field.The purpose of this paper is to have an attempt in this field.This paper is made up of five parts:the first chapter is the introduction, which puts forward the point of view, evaluate the original research achievements, and expoundss the necessity and possibility of doing the research, then on the basis of this makes clear the research approach and the basic chain of thought.The second chapter:the historical and gradual progress of Marx and Engels'ecological outlook analyzes the four stages of seeds,formation,maturity and development of it, and the general situation of each stage. The third chapter:The systematic reading of Marx and Engles'ecological outlook mainly reproduces its original look from five aspects of ecological outlook on nature, ecological outlook on economy, ecological outlook on society, ecological outlook on ethics and ecological outlook on environment. The fourth chapter:The development and practice of Marx and Engels'ecological outlook in socialist countries analyzes the development and practice of Marx'ecological outlook in socialist countries with the Soviet Union and China as the representatives.It includes the tortuous development in the Soviet Union and the theory achievements of Marxism with Chinese characteristics. The fifth chapter:The deep influence of Marx and Engels'ecological outlook on the Western Marxism analyzes the argument whether Marx and Engels can be considered as ecologists, the Western Marxism'reading and wrong understanding of Marx'outlook on nature, and the inquiry into ecological crisis The sixth chapter:The construction picture of Marxist ecological philosophy, which is the conclusion of the paper, analyzes the innovation of Marxist philosophy from the ecological angle of view and points out the research trend.
