Gallic acid (3, 4, 5-trihydroxybenzoic acid) is valuable both in chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Triazoles have been found to show wide spread biological activities. Many of them have been developed and used as drugs. Triazoles have been the most important types of nitrogen heterocyclic compounds. Different structures of triazoles have different biological activities, developing novel structural triazoles is the reseach focus at present.In this thesis, starting from gallic acid, 3, 4, 5-trimethloxylphenyl functional groups was introduced into triazols. Altogether 105 novel triazoles in six systems were designed and synthesized. Their structures were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, MS spectra and elemental analysis. Preliminary bioassays indicated that some triazoles showed good fungicidal activity. They are summarized as follows:In the first part, starting from gallic acid, 14 new 6-substituted -3-(3, 4, 5-trimethoxyphenyl)-1,2,4-triazolo[3,4-b][1,3,4]thiadiazole have been synthesized.In the second part, starting from gallic acid, 8 new Schiff bases containing triazoles and 7 new Mannich bases containing triazoles have been synthesized.In the third part, starting from gallic acid, 51 new 3-(substituted benzylthio)-4- substituted phenyl)-5-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-1,2,4-triazole have been synthesized .In the fourth part, starting from gallic acid, 9 new 3-substituted benzylthio-5-(3, 4, 5-trimethoxyphenyl)- 4-amino-1,2,4-triazole have been synthesized .In the fifth part, starting from gallic acid, 9 new 6-substituted benzylthio -3-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-1,2,4-triazolo[3,4-b][1,3,4]thiadiazole were synthesized.In the sixth part, starting from gallic acid, 7 new 3-(3, 4, 5-trimethoxyphenyl)-5- arylamino)-4H-1, 2, 4-triazole have been synthesized.In the seventh part, the antifungal and antitumor activities of some compounds have been reported. The antifungal activities of some title compounds to Gibberella zeae, Rhizoctonia solani, Polygonum multiflorum Alternaria, Polygonum multiflorum leaf spot fungi were tested by the mycelium growth rate test. The antitumor activities of some compounds to human myeoloid leukemia cells K562 and lung cancer cells A549 were tested.
