Cementation of the tailings emission is studied in the paper. The empirical study on how to deal with the tailings of Xishimen iron mine is carried and a feasible method is to fill the collapse pit on the north part of Xishimen iron mine with cemented tailings emission. By application of laboratory experiments, theoretical analysis, simulation experiments of the production process, small-scale industrial test and numerical simulation, the research on ratio of cemented materials of tailings, efficiently concentrated dehydrating techniques of tailings, the stability of collapse pit and tailings cementation stockpiling, optimization and economic evaluation of production process of cemented tailings-made filling material in the collapse pit stockpiling is carried. Mix ratio rule and minimum safety mix ratio of cementation of gel materials of tailings, optimal parameters of efficiently concentrated dehydrating process, maximum stably piling height of collapse pit, and optimization plan of production process of cemented tailings-made filling material for tailing of 500 000 t/a. The results show that after concentration the cemented emission of tailings is technically feasible and economically reasonable, environmentally friendly and helpful to ecological reconstruction. This research can promote the development of the tailings disposal technology and has changed the traditional way of tailings disposal and eliminated security risks of tailings storage.
