Since the late 1990s, China has been in a new historical period of globalization and social transformation. On one hand, rapid industrialization and urbanization has brought large-scale "vernacular mutation" to natural ecology and manmade ecology; on the other hand, there was certain fragmentation between traditional Chinese landscape culture and contemporary social life. And simultaneously strong foreign influences have not successfully represented Chinese local characteristics, which leads to the limitations and confusion of the evolution of modern human ecology. Therefore, explorations of the adaptive theory and practice of natural and cultural features in line with contemporary China's landscape architecture has become an urgent issue."Humanization of the nature", the core concept of this research, refers to an evolutionary process, in which human activities cause changes in natural factors and natural relationship. And gradually, nature becomes human nature. This research combines the philosophical discussion of "humanization of the nature" with landscape architecture, and proposes a new concept of landscape architecture, that is the evolution from natural ecology to human ecology. The concept contains two levels of meanings:1. It emphasizes the transformation from natural ecology to human ecology, which is equivalent to the "humanization of the nature". Being superposed by man's activities, the original nature is transformed into human nature. The purpose of this part is to expand our vision of "nature and culture";2. It focuses on the evolution process of human ecology, which is equivalent to the history of evolution of "humanized nature". Because people's thinking is changing and human activities are different, the old vision of human ecology evolves to a new one. The purpose of this part of research is to establish a new concept to understand and involve in nature, promoting it to a healthier direction, eventually establish a harmonious human ecology prospect between man and nature. This paper conducts systematic analysis and in-depth research on the evolution concept from natural ecology to human ecology In terms of system construction, historical exploration, evolution mechanism, concept analysis and other aspects, and combines the current limitations of theory and practice of confusion in landscape architecture. Conclusions were drawn as follow:1. This paper proposes the concept of the evolution from natural ecology to human ecology in landscape architecture, which establishes a cultural interpretation system based on the philosophy of cognitive system for current theoretical research and practical exploration of landscape architecture, and provides a new idea on how to understand and involve in nature and how to find, maintaining and extending the natural and cultural characteristics in sites;2. From a historical point of view, the formation and evolution of human ecology are the results of a long period of human activities by conscious integration of life experiences into the local natural environment. In the long process of human society, the human attributes of historical landscape gradually exceeds its natural attributes and continue to evolve towards the new human ecology, adjusting to characteristics of the times. Especially, those creative human activities can resist the erosion of time, and will not to be overwhelmed by the trend. They have important reference values as the crystallization of human wisdom;3. The ideal landschaft, as a human poetic dwelling, points to a social cognition and complex, eidetic natural process and human process. It roots in people's daily life experience and the inherent social structure, and shows diversity of social reality. In this paper, the explorations of the natural cognitive level and excavation of the increasing cultural vitality contribute to reveal the true features of landscape architecture.
