Presently, there is less the quantitative research of the preference to large-scale chromatic light in the illumination field. The quantitative method system of chromatic-light preference for the large-scale landscape illumination environment was established, by means of the study on quantitative reproduction of chromatic-light sources, the study on quantitative measure and evaluation of chromatic-light preference, and the study on quantitative express of chromatic-light preference.By measuring data, colorimetric conversion and mathematical statistics, the characteristic model on output R, G, B values and input Ir, Ig, Ib of color stimulus was established, to finish the quantitative calibrate of the computer-projector system. With this characteristic model, chromatic light of red, blue, purple metal halide lamp and high pressure sodium lamp were reproduced in the gamut of the projector. In a visual experiment, 21 chromatic-light emotional scales were investigated on 56 reproduced chromatic-light stimulus with 30 observers. Three chromatic-light emotional factors were identified by the method of factor analysis and labeled"chromatic-light activity","chromatic-light evaluation", and"chromatic-light adaptability". Pearson correlation coefficient was used in this study to investigate the relationship of color-appearance attributes and chromatic-light emotions. The results indicate that the influence on the chromatic-light emotions of lightness is most obvious influence, and that of chromatic-light hue is not relatively obvious. And according to the positive chromatic-light emotions and the negative chromatic-light emotions, the marginal values of brightness for different chromatic-light sources were proposed. Based on color psychological-measure scales, the predictive models of single chromatic-light emotion and single chromatic-light emotional factors were established.A visual-evaluation experiment of chromatic light combination was carried out, and the chromatic-light pairs were generated from 7 reproduced chromatic light. The factor analysis identified two factors:"chromatic-light activity","chromatic-light evaluation". A method by averaging emotional values of individual chromatic light that generate the pair was used for predicting emotional value of chromatic-light combination. Experimental results show that combinative chromatic-light emotions being predicted by this model belong to activity factor, however, others deriving from evaluation factor can not be predicted by this method.Experimental results of single chromatic-light preference show that yellow light is the most favorite chromatic light, and blue light is the most disagreeable one. However, this is contrary to previous studies to small-scale colors those results show that blue is the most preferred color and yellow is the least one. Based on chromatic-light emotional factors and chromatic-light attributes respectively, two models to predict chromatic-light preference were established.
