This paper presented a new combination of common CPC solar collector and flat-plate solar collector, Serpentine Compound Parabolic Concentrator (SCPC) solar collector, has both the two collectors advantages. SCPC solar collector was integrated with improved hybrid heat pump system, and then a new energy utilization system, SCPC- Solar Assisted Heat Pump Water Heater (SCPC- SAHPWH) System, emerged. Both SCPC solar collector and SCPC- SAHPWH System were researched by using theoretical and experimental methods. The applications of a new auxiliary, heat source and a new air-conditioned terminal and fresh air supply way in the SCPC-SAHPWH System were explored. The main contents are as follows:(1) SCPC collector was put forward, and its design procedures and structural features were expounded. Considering all of the direct solar radiation, scattering and ground reflection, with an element volume as the research object, unsteady mathematical model of SCPC collector were established at the point of energy balance. After researching the influences of meteorological parameters, system operating parameters and SCPC collector structure influences on performance, the main influence factors of the collector was determined. The collector structure was optimized to obtain the optimization results of the horizontal rows arrangement and focus ratio.(2) Based on optimization results, experimental SCPC collector prototype and experimental system was built up, according to the relevant national standard the collector experimental contents were arranged, through which both cases with and without glass cover were studied. The results show that, SCPC solar collector has high collection efficiency. After adding the glass cover, the collection capacity and efficiency were improved.(3) SCPC- SAHPWH system was designed by combining efficient SCPC solar collector and improved hybrid Solar- Assisted Heat Pump Water Heater (SAHPWH) system. Unsteady lumped parameter mathematical model of SCPC-SAHPWH system in parallel and series mode were established, and the conversion principles between series and parallel mode were also determined. Solar fraction was calculated. The introduction of diesel and gasoline driven heat pump system as SCPC-SAHPWH auxiliary heat source for the first time expanded SCPC-SAHPWH system applications. First time, life cycle cost model was used in SCPC-SAHPWH system auxiliary heat source economic analysis.(4) Trying to use Displacement Ventilation system as HVAC air supply means and Reversible Ventilation system as fresh air supply means, these are two new energy saving ideas. The numerical simulation of displacement ventilation system was established to simulate the characteristics of the flow pattern. Combined the patent, Reversible Ventilation system, with the SCPC-SAHPWH system, energy saving capacity of Reversible Ventilation system was demonstrated.
