As an important measure to prevent wide-area power system blackout when a serious fault occurs, transient stability control (TSC) system has been used widely in recent years. Based on the summarization of previous work, this dissertation conducts systematical research work on the generation of the emergency control strategy. An algorithm for Generation of operation mode set is presented. Given the required parameters, it can be used to get operation mode set which can satisfy all the constraints and cover all operation modes. Based on the operation mode set, a new algorithm for the generation of emergency control strategy table is presented, which can be used in both on-line calculation and off-line calculation.Particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm, which is based on the evolutionary computation, is used to solve the constrained load flow. After the modification of the PSO algorithm based on the characteristics of constrained load flow, its efficiency and convergence are improved greatly and the modified algorithm is capable of practical power system calculation.A mathematical model for optimal load-shedding control is established which minimizes the total amount of shed loads to maintain transient angle stability. A method of calculating the sensitivity of the loads to the constraint function is proposed. Based on the sensitivity and time simulation, a new load-shedding algorithm is presented. This algorithm uses one time more calculations to get sensitivities of all controls than that of SBS (Step By Step), so the strategy of load shedding, which is used to maintain the system transient stability, can be calculated quickly. The principle of the algorithm is simple. Case studies show the algorithm's efficiency and convergence.Generator tripping is used to test the universality of the grads and sensitivity calculation method of the load-shedding algorithm. A fast generator-tripping algorithm is proposed, which is based on the fast load-shedding algorithm and the characteristics of the generator tripping.A systematic emergency control strategy-making algorithm based on the integral sensitivity is presented. It can coordinate kinds of controls, and get more efficient strategy with less cost. This algorithm can deal with various models of power system components.
