Concrete is widely used in many civil engineering fields. However, the concrete material also has some disadvantages that restrict its development, such as the large dead weight, the high-brittleness and low-toughness. So how to improve and enhance the performance of concrete becomes the research focus, among these researches, the researches involve in the lightweight aggregate concrete, the high strength concrete and the steel fiber reinforced concrete are more systemic. This subject is to combine the steel fiber reinforced concrete with the lightweight aggregate concrete to form a steel fiber reinforced lightweight aggregate (artificial inflatable perlite) concrete, which owns the advantages of steel fiber reinforced concrete and lightweight aggregate concrete. First, the steel fiber reinforced concrete and the lightweight aggregate concrete can make up the deficiencies of common concrete such as low tensile strength and large dead weight. Second, they can also make up for each other's deficiencies to reinforce and improve concrete better in different phases. In order to get the main character and mechanical property parameter of strength and deformation of steel fiber reinforced lightweight aggregate concrete, we do the experiments of cubic compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, bending strength, elastic modulus and axial compressive strength, and summarize the rule of the mechanical property, gain some significative conclusions, which have great significations for its popularization and application in practical engineering.Substituting the common aggregate with lightweight aggregate and mixing the short steel fiber into the concrete makes the change of its mechanical property more various, so that it becomes more difficult to do the theoretic analysis. After the 1960s, some new breakage theories, such as the fracture mechanics and the damage mechanics, had been applied in the research of the concrete. It made people had the farther understanding about the concrete. Based on the existing research productions of inland and overseas, combining with the experimental results and applying the viewpoints of the composite material, the energy, the combination of grandness andmicrocosmic, damage and fracture, this paper makes more detailed discusses about the failure characteristics and reinforcing principle of the steel fiber reinforced lightweight aggregate concrete. An embedded analysis about the laws of mechanical property of the steel fiber reinforced lightweight aggregate concrete has also been made by combining the fracture theory with the damage theory.
